Horse and Gentlemen Rider Weathervane

A very fine molded sheet copper weathervane, with outstanding detail, bold proportions, and naturally evolved verdigris.
This form represents a formally dressed equestrian gentlemen showing his mount in the classical art of dressage. This very early, circa 1850’s “hand made” weathervane precedes the later commercially molded examples. Attributed to A. J. Jewell
